Session 1
Understanding All the Pieces of the Pricing Puzzle
In today’s competitive market, it is crucial that products and services are priced right. Establishing that correct price point can be difficult. You must be able to access critical financial information in order to make the right decisions for your business. If the price of the product or service is too high or too low, there can be negative consequences. Priced too high – market share lost. Priced too low – cannot cover costs. This seminar will help you truly understand what information goes into figuring actual costs in order to determine on-target pricing. You will be able to recognize the key elements necessary to create the pricing formula to meet your business needs. You will walk away from this seminar understanding the key components that must be factored into the cost formula to derive the true costs of producing and delivering your product and/or service, the necessity of determining the actual cost of overhead, and the ability to identify what pricing the current market will bear.
The focus of this 2-part training session is to help the Independent Business Owner truly understand what information goes into figuring actual costs in order to determine on-target pricing. They will be able to recognize the key elements necessary to create the pricing formula to meet their business needs. Using this information can also help you determine the viability of a particular service and/or product.
Session II
Turn Your Pricing Information into Real Numbers
Once you know all of the key components of a pricing strategy, the next step is learning how to apply the pricing formulas to your specific business. Once you understand the key elements that must be considered when determining price, that information must be converted into specific pricing formulas to translate into actual pricing numbers. This class builds on the information gained in Part 1: Poised For Profit: Discovering How to Price Your Products and Services for Profitability-Understanding All the Pieces of the Pricing Puzzle and takes you through the application process to determine your actual costs and determine the right pricing.
Program Objectives
1. Recognize and identify all the components that go into pricing a product and/or service
2. Analyze the profitability of a product/service
3. Develop a formula to break-down actual costs
4. Understand what information needs to be in your financial reporting so you are able to reassess pricing at regular intervals
5. Recognize and evaluate competition, vendors and operating costs on a regular basis
